Join the Catholic Filipino Young Adults (CFYA) on a Public Square Rosary on October 11, 2008 at Bryant Park, NYC.

Currently, the United States is suffering from the sins of abortion, homosexuality, impure fashions and immoral laws. Moreover, secularism attempts to remove God from society. But without God, where will our leaders get the wisdom to solve the great problems we face? We must counter today’s immoral and secularist trends with our public prayers. We must ask God, through the Rosary of His Most Holy Mother to save America.

Public Square Rosary Rallies

is organized by www.americaneedsfatima.org , it takes place each year, on the Saturday closest to October 13, the day of the Fatima miracle of the sun, we hold thousands of Public Square Rosary Rallies. America Needs Fatima’s Rally Captains gather people in a group in highly visible places to pray the Rosary, beg God’s pardon, sing hymns and make public witness for the Fatima message.  For info please contact the Rally Captain: Reynor 848-203-9490 or Reynor@katoliko.org

Hey everyone,

The next event in Apostolist’s Summer in the City program is coming up this Saturday afternoon, and you don’t want to miss it.

Join us at the Covenant House (a shelter for homeless teens in Hell’s Kitchen) for an ice cream social. We’ll be scooping ice cream — 16 flavors — for the teens, then joining them for a multitude of fun activities. They’re really looking forward to having us, and it’s a great opportunity to share God’s love with some kids who could use a reminder.

Some details:
– Please show up at 2pm sharp. We’ll wrap up by 4. Covenant House is located at 460 W 41st street at 10th ave. If you’re coming from points east, walk down 42nd street to 10th ave, then turn left to 41st. You can’t miss it.

– Dress comfortably and modestly.

– If you have a board game you’re willing to share, please bring it along. Ditto for an ice cream scoop.

Hope to see you there.

In Christ,
The Apostolist leadership team

Dear Pro-life Friends,

I just wanted to let you know that the next ALL Report is loaded and ready to go.  It’s on the new release of our Baby Steps dvd, which shows 4-D ultrasound images of babies in the womb.  This 8 language dvd will be a powerful tool for pro-life organizations around the world, showing the personhood of every baby in every stage of life.

The video can be found on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWfRvRiROfg or on blip.tv at: http://allreport.blip.tv/#1106330.  Please post this on your blogs and send around to family and friends.
As always, thanks so much for what you do for the babies!

–Michael

I encourage you all to please pray for the Philippines.  Let us ask our Blessed Virgin Mother to protect our country from the hands of this beast this “culture of death”.  Let us offer our sacrifices for the enlightenment of  all the people involved in pushing this legislation and strength and courage for those who are standing up against it.  While our country is suffused with poverty now they offer us death.  When death becomes an answer to poverty, it can no longer be called a solution…there is a better term to describe it and its called suicide.  -Reynor

Asia’s Catholic Country Crusades Against Abortion, Contraception Push

Washington, DC (23 July 2008) – In a move that is capturing the attention of the pro-life world, Catholic bishops in the Philippines are leading massive resistance to the “culture of death” by holding a nationwide rally July 25. The Church-led movement is swiftly gaining momentum to fight a bill that would usher in birth control, sex education and, eventually, abortion in the Philippines.

“This is inspiring,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. “These bishops are leading Catholics in a crusade that will mean life or death for millions of people. May their fight ignite our American bishops to take up their staffs to fight the evil – the abortive assault on children and families – that permeates our world.”

On the 40th anniversary of Pope Paul VI’s encyclical “Humanae Vitae,” which condemned artificial birth control, Filipino priests, nuns, seminarians and laity will rally en masse against the Reproductive Health and Population Development Act of 2008.

The legislation would create a new agency called the Commission on Population, which would institutionalize artificial birth control, implement sex education for students as early as the fifth grade and pave the way for legalized abortion.

The rally is the latest strike against the population-control legislation in a country that is 85 percent Catholic. Bishops are denying the Eucharist to politicians who favor the anti-life legislation as well as advising voters that a politician’s stance on population control should form the basis of their voting decisions.

The executive director of the Filipino bishops’ Commission for Family and Life, Fr. Melvin Castro, stated that the bill, if passed, would promote “laxity of morality” and the “culture of death” in the Philippines, according to Life Site News.

American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death. This Saturday, June 12th, be a part of an enlightening discussion. The CSPYA and YCNY have organized a Bible Study every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. We will meet in the back of the Cathedral at the Information Desk between 5:00 P.M. to 5:20 P.M. At 5:20 P.M., we shall head to our pews for the 5:30 P.M. Mass, which fulfills your Sunday obligation. After Mass, we shall meet again at the Information Desk and then proceed down to the Small Meeting Room for our discussion. Those who wish to join us for the study but cannot attend Mass can meet us at the Cathedral Information Desk between 6:15 - 6:20 P.M.. There will be someone at the Cathedral Parish House entrance to let you in until 7:00 P.M. The downstairs entrance is at 14 East 51st Street. After the study, we will head out to a nearby restaurant for dinner.
