About

Katoliko.org is a Faith-sharing website for all Filipinos around the world. Its purpose is to provide an online community and a public square for all, Catholics and non-Catholics, who wish to learn more about the Catholic Church, her teachings, beliefs, practices, and history through a community sharing of articles, resources, personal reflections and experiences.

Katoliko.org is not an official Filipino Catholic website but a personal project and ministry of a lay person with other Filipinos who share the same love for Christ. We are obedient to the Pope and faithful to the Magisterium of the Church.

“We are not some casual meaningless product of evolution.
Each of us is the result of a thought of God. Each of us is willed, each of us is loved, each of us is necessary.”

We as a Church must provide a positive and vibrant vision that generates hope of new life in people’s hearts. As the disciples on the road to Emmaus said: “Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the scriptures to us” (Luke 24:30-35). This is the preaching of the Good News of the Gospel.

The new evangelisation means “never being satisfied with the fact that from the grain of mustard seed, the great tree of the Universal Church grew; never thinking that the fact that different birds may find place among its branches can suffice - rather, it means to dare, once again and with the humility of the small grain, to leave up to God the when and how it will grow” (Mark 4:26-29).

-Pope Benedict XVI

John Paul IIDo not be afraid to go out on the streets and into public places, like the first Apostles who preached Christ and the Good News of salvation in the squares of cities, towns and villages. This is no time to be ashamed of the Gospel (cf. Rom 1:16). It is the time to preach it from the rooftops (cf. Mt 10:27). Do not be afraid to break out of comfortable and routine modes of living, in order to take up the challenge of making Christ known in the modern “metropolis”. It is you who must “go out into the byroads” (Mt 22:9) and invite everyone you meet to the banquet which God has prepared for his people. The Gospel must not be kept hidden because of fear or indifference. It was never meant to be hidden away in private. It has to be put on a stand so that people may see its light and give praise to our heavenly Father (cf. Mt 5:15-16).
